    The Town of Strasburg is currently accepting applications for vacancies on the Planning Commission and the Architectural Review Board.  The Planning Commission currently meets two times per month.  The ARB meets on the fourth Thursday of each month to review applications in the historic districts.  Please, complete the application and return to the Town Office by February 1, 2014.  The Town of Strasburg considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, the presence of a non-position related medical condition or handicap, or any other legally protected status.


    As required by Virginia State Code Section 58.1-3940, the Strasburg Town Council will vote to abate personnel property and real estate taxes at the January 14, 2014 meeting.  Uncollected utility bills from 2008 will also be be abated.  To view a list of accounts to be abated, click here. 


    Winter weather is here!  Please, help keep our town citizens and visitors safe by clearing snow and ice from sidewalks.  Strasburg Town Code Section 74-236 reads:

    "The tenant or occupant and, if there shall be no occupant, the owner or any person having care of any building or lot of land abutting on any curbed or paved sidewalk shall, during the fist six hours of daylight following the time when snow or ice ceases to fall or form, cause the snow or ice to be removed from such curbed or paved sidewalk."


    Notice is hereby provided that on December 10, 2013 the Strasburg Town Council voted to award the Strasburg PPEA Project.  The Project consists of an upgrade to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and construction of a Public Works Facility.  The total amount of the proposed contract is $24,582,500.  Consistent with the Town’s PPEA guidelines, a copy of the proposed contract is publicly posted and available for review by members of the public at the Strasburg Town Hall, 174 East King Street, Strasburg, VA.  Written questions and comments on the proposed contract may be submitted to Judson Rex, Town Manager, via mail (174 East King Street, Strasburg, Virginia 22657) or email (jrex@strasburgva.com).


    Shenandoah County and the Town of Strasburg have partnered and have actively worked together to identify long-term goals and strategies for the development of the Northern Shenandoah Industrial Park.  To view a copy of the Joint Land Use Plan, please click here.
